The Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany is fully open at 150 W. Main St. and so are the various classes organizers hoped to offer.
The health-related programs also are open to anyone, even people who live outside of the community.
“People do not have to be a member of (the) fitness center or a New Albany resident to take classes,” said Abbey Brooks, program director for the center. “The Heit Center is open to everyone and classes are the same price for everyone.”
Classes began this month on such topics as cooking, nutrition, exercise and wellness, CPR and athletics injuries.
Brooks said the programs are scheduled by the nonprofit Healthy New Albany.
